Arland Bruce’s big game
July 31, 2010 – Hamilton Tiger-Cats play the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field. Arland Bruce ate up the Roughriders defensive secondary all day long, reeling in 16 pass receptions, for 272 yards, and 2 touchdowns. The 16 catches tied a CFL record for most receptions in a single game. The record is now shared with 4 different CFL players: Terry Greer, Brian Wiggins, Derrell Mitchell, and Arland Bruce.

Arland Bruce scored a touchdown with his 3rd reception in the first quarter of the game. But perhaps the most impressive of the 16 catches came in the fourth quarter on Arland Bruce’s 15th reception of the game. Bruce took the pass from Tiger-Cats quarterback Kevin Glenn on the Roughriders 30 yard line, and proceeded to knife through the defense, eluding 7 potential tacklers on route to the endzone.

This game was also made famous when Tiger-Cats receiver Dave Stala uses football as a hacky sack following a touchdown pass from quarterback Kevin Glenn in the first quarter.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats went on to lose the game to the Saskatchewan Roughriders 37-24. Despite the great effort from Arland Bruce.
Arland Bruce earned the CFL Offensive Player of the Week honours for his performance.
